the trees are all there is left behind…

~
moments before sunlight impaled
darkness is known and follows wind blown
it has moments of sudden displeasure
reach past gold feather the clouds must be kind
it is dark now and shadows are blind
the trees are all there is left behind
~

a little stroll from where we live
where
when the sun sets
it rests on the mountains
for a few short minutes the light is perfectly golden

such a place to stop and rest
and the feelings that just being for now is enough
being here and knowing that we are so lucky
and happy and still and strong and small
