Have you ever considered our disposable lifestyle, how many of the products we use everyday are designed to be thrown out after as little as just one use? Tissues, toweling paper, razors, coffee cups, drink containers, food containers, nappies, tea bags, plastic shopping bags are all manufactured, packaged, transported and sold to be used once and then discarded, sometimes within a matter of minutes. [...]

Our lives are filled to the brim with jobs, families, goals and expectations and we often overlook the very simple everyday opportunities to find joy and happiness. The key is to find happiness in the everyday, to acknowledge and enjoy the little things and find joy in the small, simple pieces of our busy, hurried lives. [...]

We all need balance in our lives, a balance that allows us to consider our wants, needs and desires. To be able to weigh up our lifestyle and make choices that reflects a true desire to do better and an understanding of our impact as members of a consumer society.
I am hoping, over the next couple of weeks, to target specific areas of our everyday life and look at how our choices and habits have an effect on the world around us. [...]

Much of the reason why the earth is in such a dire state could be based on the way we as a society have over the years detached ourselves from the living world and viewed nature as simply something we could control for our own needs. Unfortunately I feel ‘Climate Change’ is not only a consequence of this view but also a product.
We need positive reinforcement and a will to live sustainably for the benefit and survival of all people and the natural living world. [...]

We tend to look outwards, spend our time searching and achieving, placing our hopes and desires in the future and never looking at the now. But everyday life is filled with pleasures, achievements, goodness and happiness. We need the courage to acknowledge the little things and detach ourselves from the idea that a cheerful, contented, happy life is something you need to achieve, to have, that it will be that way once we have money to burn, nice clothes, an expensive house, a flash car and so on. [...]

Life as we are living is not sustainable
We have no right to do this
Look out your window at the trees and life that lives around you
These are not your things to destroy
This is not your purpose on this planet
Things
Little small simple things can change this planets destiny [...]

Modern life, in the modern age; so busy, rushed and focused. Our lives are filled with abundance and the good things that make up a happy, healthy, productive, satisfying life. Yet do we feel satisfied, do we have time to appreciate the good things? So much of modern live is based on having and obtaining rather than generating and sharing. [...]

We all have a conscious and none of us really want to have a negative social or environmental impact, right? But do we really ever consider the connection between the things we buy and the living world?
Every day we hear about climate change, poverty, starvation, disease, drought and pollution, are harassed to go ‘green’, be eco-friendly, biodegradable and sustainable all while having consumerism and product placement choke us and drive us a little crazy. We can’t help but turn-off!
If we sweat the big stuff too much, it paralyses us, we feel there is nothing we can do to ’save the world from ultimate destruction’. [...]
